Retail Store Manager

RETAIL STORE MANAGER

Department: Retail Management

Shift: Various shifts from 9:30am-6:30pm

Reports to: Managing Partner

Job Summary:

The Retail Store Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of American Classics Marketplace, including leading store staff, supporting vendors, maintaining a clean and welcoming sales floor, and ensuring customers receive helpful, friendly service. This is a hands-on role that requires regular presence on the sales floor, active communication with employees and vendors, and attention to the details that keep the store organized, safe, and ready for business each day. The Store Manager helps create a positive shopping experience by making sure staff are prepared, customer questions are addressed, vendor spaces are supported, and store standards are consistently maintained.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

· Supervise daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, floor coverage, customer service, and general store readiness.

· Recruit, train, schedule, and support store employees to maintain appropriate coverage and consistent service standards.

· Assign daily tasks, follow up on completion, and help employees understand store procedures and expectations.

· Conduct regular floor walks to check merchandise presentation, tagging, cleanliness, vendor areas, and potential safety concerns.

· Support vendors by helping maintain attractive displays, answering questions, and communicating store needs or concerns as appropriate.

· Monitor basic sales, staffing, payroll, and store activity to help meet business goals set by the Managing Partner.

· Maintain store appearance by assigning cleaning duties, checking restrooms and common areas, and addressing facility issues promptly.

· Enforce company policies, safety practices, and customer service standards in a fair and consistent manner.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Managing Partner.

Compensation Package:

Pay rate: Salary ranges from $60,000+bonus with possible incentive DOE

Supervision Given and Received:

This position supervises 15+ store employees and is supervised directly by the Managing Partner.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Experience as a Store Manager, Assistant Manager, or similar hands-on retail leadership role.

· Ability to supervise employees, assign work, provide coaching, and maintain accountability in daily store operations.

· Basic budgeting, payroll, scheduling, or labor-management experience preferred.

· Knowledge of antiques, collectibles, home décor, or vendor-based retail environments preferred.

· Hands-on experience with POS software preferred; SOS experience is a plus.

· QuickBooks experience preferred.

· Strong sense of ownership, reliability, and pride in maintaining a clean, organized, customer-ready store.

· Good judgment, practical problem-solving skills, and the ability to respond calmly to daily store issues.

· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

· Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.

· Ability to lead team meetings and motivate others.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

Computer Skills:

Ability to use common computer systems for POS transactions, scheduling, ordering, email communication, documentation, and basic reporting. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, POS systems, and QuickBooks is preferred.

Certificates and Licenses:

Business, retail, or management-related certifications are preferred but not required.

Education and Experience:

Two to four years+ of retail supervisory experience preferred; business degree preferred; equivalent education, training, and experience will be considered.

Physical Demands:

§ Requires the ability to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas.

§ Requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, with heavier lifting performed only as appropriate and with assistance when needed.

§ Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, and bend during an 8-hour shift.

§ Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.
