About US Fitness Products
US Fitness Products is a leading commercial and residential fitness equipment dealer and service provider serving North Carolina from our showrooms in Raleigh and Charlotte, serving all surrounding areas of NC, VA, and SC. We sell, deliver, install, and service equipment from the top brands in the industry for homeowners, gyms, universities, hotels, multi-family communities, hospitals, corporate wellness centers, and first responders.
Our mission is simple: be the fastest and the best service in the country. We move quickly, we follow through, and we are actively innovating an industry that has historically been slow to change. We're looking for someone who wants to grow with us.
Position Summary
Our long-time Raleigh Store Manager is retiring, and we're hiring their replacement. The Store Manager runs the day-to-day operations of our Raleigh showroom along with some general operations for Charlotte as well: leading sales, owning the customer experience from first touch through post-delivery follow-up, coordinating purchasing, freight, and warehouse logistics for both the Raleigh and Charlotte stores. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who loves fitness, loves serving customers, and takes pride in being the best.
What You'll Do
Sales & Customer Experience
- Become a product expert across our full catalog — cardio, strength, flooring, and accessories. Guide customers to the right solution for their goals, space, and budget.
- Respond to incoming leads quickly and professionally; speed of response is a non-negotiable at US Fitness.
- Follow up with every customer after the sale to confirm satisfaction and surface any issues early.
- Address any customer concerns immediately upon delivery, owning the resolution end-to-end.
- Coordinate with the Service Department on any post-sale equipment issues to ensure fast, clean handoffs.
Purchasing, Freight & Warehouse Coordination
- Submit Purchase Orders to vendors for both the Raleigh and Charlotte stores.
- Track inbound freight and proactively communicate ETAs to customers and internal teams.
- Coordinate with our warehouse on receiving, staging, and outbound deliveries.
- Occasionally operate a forklift to receive freight at store (infrequent, but required when needed).
Product Catalog & Online Presence
- Keep our product catalog current — pricing, photos, SKUs, descriptions, and tagging — as new products are added, existing products change, and pricing changes.
- Partner with our videographer to create social media content featuring our products, equipment education, and general fitness education. Comfort on camera is a plus, but also will come with practice.
Showroom & Store Operations
- Regularly clean and maintain showroom equipment so every piece looks and demos like new.
- Keep the store pristine — floors vacuumed, bathrooms clean, trash taken out, glass and surfaces wiped down. We all pitch in; the manager sets the standard.
What We're Looking For
Required
- A genuine passion for fitness. This is non-negotiable — you should love this industry and the customers we serve.
- Previous retail experience.
- Comfortable being on your feet, demonstrating equipment, and doing physical work when needed.
- Strong communicator — clear, fast, and professional in writing and in person.
- Organized and able to juggle leads, POs, freight tracking, and customer follow-up without dropping balls.
- Willingness to be on camera for social media content.
- Willingness to operate a forklift (training provided if needed).
- Able to learn quickly as processes and technology constantly changes and improves
- NOTE: You will be required to work every Saturday as this is a retail position.
Preferred
- Previous management or team-lead experience.
- Experience selling fitness equipment or related products.
What We Offer
- Competitive base pay + commission.
- 401(k) with employer matching.
- Employer-sponsored health, dental, and vision insurance.
- Paid time off.
- A real opportunity to grow with a company that is actively reshaping its industry.
Why This Role
We are not a slow, sleepy fitness dealer. We are building the fastest and best service in the country, and we are innovating in ways no one else in this space is. If you want a role where speed, quality, and ownership are rewarded — and where the work you do shows up directly in the customer experience and the growth of the business — we want to talk to you.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- 401(k) matching
- Dental insurance
- Health insurance
- Paid time off
- Vision insurance
Application Question(s):
- Are you aware this position requires you to work every Saturday?
- Why do you want to work in the fitness equipment industry specifically, and what's your personal relationship with fitness?
- Our #1 operating principle is speed — fastest response, fastest follow-up, fastest resolution. Tell us about a time you out-worked or out-paced everyone around you on response time or follow-through. Be specific.
- A customer calls upset because the treadmill that was delivered yesterday is making a grinding noise. Walk us through exactly what you would do, in order, in the first 30 minutes after that call.
- What retail or sales role have you held the longest, and why did you stay? What made you eventually leave?
- Have you ever managed or led a team, even informally? If yes, describe the size of the team, what you were responsible for, and one specific thing you'd do differently if you were leading them today.
- This role requires being on camera for social media content with our videographer. How do you feel about that, and have you ever created content (personal or professional) where you were the on-camera presence? Link or describe if yes. (it's okay if you haven't)
- We implement and change technology and process often. Describe your experience with technology and establishing/creating/following processes.
- Tell us about a time you made a mistake at work that cost the company money, a customer, or time. What happened, and what did you do about it?
- We aim to be the fastest and best fitness equipment service in the country, and we're actively innovating an industry that has historically been slow. What does "growing with a company" mean to you, and where do you want to be professionally in 3-5 years?
- This role also involves the unglamorous stuff — cleaning equipment, vacuuming, taking out trash, scrubbing bathrooms. The store manager sets the standard by doing it themselves, not delegating it. How does that sit with you, and why?
- Describe a time you had to coordinate logistics or deliveries across multiple moving parts — vendors, warehouses, customers, internal teams. What was the situation, how did you keep it organized, and what (if anything) went wrong?
- Tell us about a customer you "won back" after they had a bad experience. What happened, what did you do specifically, and what was the outcome?
- You're working a slow Tuesday afternoon — no customers in the store, no urgent emails, no pending deliveries. What do you do for the next two hours, and why?
- What's your honest opinion of fitness influencer/sales content on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube right now? What do you think works, what doesn't, and what kind of content would you want to create for our store?
