Orchard Alliance, a subsidiary of The Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination, is seeking a full-time Retirement Specialist to join our Customer Care team. We are a nonprofit financial stewardship ministry serving churches, individuals, families, and like-minded organizations.

This role focuses on retirement account administration, primarily IRAs, while delivering accurate, timely, and service-oriented support to our customers. This position is ideal for someone with experience in retirement services, financial operations, or account administration who values accuracy, stewardship, and meaningful service in support of our mission.

In this role, your work directly contributes to funding ministry initiatives, making each interaction impactful beyond the transaction itself.

Primary Duties

Retirement Account Administration (IRA-Focused)

• Administer retirement accounts, including IRA account openings, rollovers, transfers, contributions, and distributions
• Monitor and process Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs)
• Manage beneficiary updates and death processing
• Maintain procedures, checklists, and compliance calendars
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness across all account activity

Customer Support & Issue Resolution

• Serve as a primary point of contact for retirement account inquiries
• Handle escalated service issues with professionalism and care
• Communicate processes and requirements clearly and compassionately

Operations & Coordination

• Coordinate with Accounting on cash movement, reconciliations, and tax reporting (Forms 5498 and 1099-R)
• Support RMD calculations and reporting processes
• Partner with Technology to support systems, reporting, and statements

Team Support & Process Improvement

• Support and train Customer Care Representatives on retirement account processes
• Serve as a resource for IRA-related questions
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, documentation, and customer experience
• Maintain clear documentation to ensure consistency and continuity

Escalation & Oversight

• Escalate complex or compliance-related questions to management
• Support audits, reviews, and regulatory inquiries as needed

The Retirement Specialist owns service execution and operational accuracy; regulatory and compliance authority remains with management.

Experience

· Experience in IRA administration, retirement services, financial operations, banking, trust/custodial services, or similar

· Candidates with direct IRA experience are preferred; however, individuals with experience in 401(k) or 403(b) administration, financial services operations, banking, or client service roles with exposure to retirement accounts and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

· Experience working in a regulated financial services environment with documented procedures and oversight

· Working knowledge of retirement account processes, including contributions, distributions, rollovers, transfers, RMDs, and beneficiary designations

Certifications

· Certified IRA Services Professional (CISP), Certified IRA Specialist II (CIS II), or equivalent preferred

· Willingness to pursue certification(s) as the program grows
