Revenue Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Revenue Specialist to join our financial team. In this vital role, you will oversee the revenue cycle management process, ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation of revenue streams across various accounts. Responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, and customer account analysis to ensure timely payments and reduce outstanding balances
• Perform detailed account reconciliations using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms to verify accuracy of revenue entries
• Maintain compliance with SOX controls by documenting procedures and conducting internal audits of revenue transactions
• Utilize technical accounting knowledge to prepare journal entries related to revenue recognition and adjustments in accordance with GAAP standards
• Conduct data entry with precision using 10-key typing skills while ensuring accuracy in financial software systems like Quicken or other relevant tools
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including medical billing, governmental accounting, and non-profit accounting to streamline revenue cycle management processes
• Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies or anomalies; prepare reports that support decision-making and strategic planning
• Engage in negotiation with clients or vendors regarding billing issues or payment terms to optimize cash flow and strengthen relationships

Qualifications

• Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles with a focus on revenue cycle management
• Strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, account analysis, and double-entry bookkeeping
• Familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms; experience with medical terminology and CPT coding is a plus
• Knowledge of SOX compliance procedures and internal control frameworks for financial reporting
• Excellent analysis skills with the ability to perform account reconciliation and identify discrepancies efficiently
• Proficiency in ICD-10 coding standards and medical billing processes preferred but not required
• Exceptional attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
• Effective communication skills paired with professional phone etiquette for customer service interactions and negotiations
