RF Design Manager/ Architect/ Senior Tech. Lead/ Tech. Lead
- Architecture level, design level sign-off on RF Design for the MILCOM Wireless communication
- Deliver individual level system design and architecture expertise for low power and high power RF
- Will own concept-to-certification responsibility through deep RF circuit level design and
- Will lead a team towards realisation of the RF designs and inter-work with mechanical, digital and
Essentials:
1. Understanding of RF hardware and system design in the context of Wireless communication
systems. Understanding of Aerospace and defence domain is a plus.
2. Understanding RF component characteristics and Validation: PLL, LNA, Mixer, PA, Filter, Coupler,
switch etc. Understand timing characteristics and specifications for TR modules, bias, hopping,
power management etc.
3. Understanding Power management components: LDO, Buck converter etc.
4. Schematic Creation in OrCAD Capture and own the RF PCB sign-off working with CAD teams
5. Knowledge of RF measurement techniques such as Harmonics, IP3, Noise Figure, Gain, P1dB,
VSWR etc. and expertise in characterizing circuits for RF measurements
6. Hands on experience with Lab equipment like Oscilloscope, Spectrum analyzer, Vector network
analyzer, Power meter and Signal Generator
7. Experience in Wireless communications and RADAR subsystem/system design
8. TR Module Design, CW/Pulsed Power Amplifier design, Synthesizer Design, Up/Down Convertor
Design, Lumped and Distributed element filter design
9. Good understanding of thermal analysis and power handling towards the antenna system.
Roles and Responsibility:
1. Frequency planning, power budget analysis and compliance to specifications/requirements. Link
budget analysis and mapping to RF system.
2. Create, review and document module level architectures for RF sub-systems.
3. Creating project documentation needed for design, reviews, test procedures, ATP/QTP, etc.
4. Interact with Digital Hardware, FPGA RTL, Software and Mechanical teams during design stage,
development and qualification stages as may be necessary
5. Involve in testing, integration and qualification of systems.
Mandatory Skill Set:
1. Handling a team of 2 or more Engineers (Design & Sr. Design Engineers)
2. Design/ develop/ use RF parameter calculators as may be required
3. Expert level Experience on RF tools: ADS, AWR and HFSS etc.
Desired Skill Set:
1. Time Management, Problem solving, Leadership, Teamwork and collaboration.
2. Ability to lead RF certification processes
