Position Overview

The Rheumatology Physician is essential to the success of our organization by providing expert, high-quality care for patients with rheumatologic and autoimmune conditions. The physician independently evaluates and manages patients across the continuum of care, develops and oversees individualized treatment plans, monitors therapeutic response, and supports the organization’s mission of improving patient outcomes through clinical excellence and compassionate care.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and management of adult patients with rheumatologic and autoimmune conditions in an outpatient setting.
  • Perform in-office minor procedures such as joint aspirations and injections.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans, prescribe appropriate medications, and monitor patients for efficacy and adverse effects.
  • Collaborate with internal specialties and external referring providers to coordinate multidisciplinary patient care.
  • Review and interpret laboratory and imaging results, adjusting treatment plans based on findings and clinical judgment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Participate in a shared outpatient call schedule with no inpatient responsibilities.
  • Contribute to clinical program development and quality improvement initiatives that advance rheumatologic care.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients regarding disease processes, lifestyle modifications, and management strategies.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing medical education and participation in relevant professional societies.

Required Qualifications

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible MD with 2-3 years experience.
  • Current active full unrestricted Oregon Medical license or ability to obtain.
  • Current DEA license
  • Strong technical/computer skills and EMR experience
  • Problem solving skills and ability to multi-task
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
