Rice Procurement & Quality Control

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Rice Purchaser to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate must have strong experience in rice quality analysis, cooking evaluation, grading standards and supplier sourcing. This role requires hands-on knowledge of different rice varieties, quality parameters and market trends to ensure we consistently procure high-quality products at competitive prices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify, negotiate and procure high-quality raw/finished rice (Basmati/Non-Basmati) at competitive prices from mills, farmers and traders
• Conduct detailed rice quality analysis including grain length, moisture content, broken percentage, color, aroma and texture
• Perform cooking tests to evaluate taste, texture, and overall performance
• Negotiate pricing, contracts and delivery terms with suppliers
• Maintain strong relationships with mills, exporters and vendors
• Monitor market trends, crop conditions and price fluctuations
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and company specifications

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Rice Purchaser, Rice Quality Analyst or similar role
• Strong knowledge of rice varieties (Basmati, Non-Basmati, Long Grain, Medium Grain, etc.)
• Hands-on experience in rice cooking analysis and quality grading
• Understanding of moisture testing, grain classification and defect identification
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
• Ability to travel to mills and supplier locations as needed
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Food Science, Supply Chain or related field preferred
