Job Description: Rigger / Signalman

The Rigger / Signalman is responsible for safely rigging loads and directing tower crane operations using approved hand signals or radio communication. The role ensures that all lifting activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with site safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attach, secure, and inspect loads before lifting operations
• Select and use appropriate rigging gear (slings, shackles, hooks, etc.)
• Give clear hand signals or radio instructions to the tower crane operator
• Ensure lifting operations are conducted safely and according to approved lifting plans
• Check load weights, balance, and lifting paths prior to execution
• Maintain clear communication between the crane operator and ground crew
• Identify hazards and stop lifting operations if unsafe conditions are observed
• Ensure full compliance with site HSE rules and lifting procedures
• Inspect rigging equipment and report any defects immediately

Requirements:

• Valid Rigger / Signalman certification
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in GCC countries
• Proven experience in construction projects
• Experience in tower crane lifting operations
• Knowledge of standard crane hand signals
• Ability to read and understand lifting plans and load charts
• Good communication skills
• Physically fit and safety-conscious

Working Conditions:

• Construction site environment
• May involve working at heights and in varying weather conditions
