Rigging Supervisor / Mechanical Engineer

Location: Doha, Qatar

Employment Type: Full-Time - Direct Hire

We are currently looking for a Rigging Supervisor / Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in safe lifting operations, rigging calculations and contractor supervision. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, engineering and safe execution of all lifting and rigging activities, including managing contractors, maintaining rigging equipment and ensuring full compliance with company safety policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Lead and supervise Baseload Rigging and Equipment Operator Contractors during routine operations and unit shutdowns.

🔹 Ensure safe and timely execution of rigging activities during Turnarounds and Emergencies.

🔹 Prepare and review rigging plans, approve critical lift permits, and lead Job Safety Analyses.

🔹 Optimize crane and rigging equipment use to control costs and improve efficiency.

🔹 Oversee inspection, maintenance, and certification of all lifting equipment and spares.

🔹 Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, and participate in audits and root cause investigations.

🔹 Use SAP and technical documentation to support material inspections and inventory planning.

What We’re Looking For:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Rigging and Lifting.

Preferred 8+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.

Certifications & Skills:

• Competent Rigger Level II or equivalent.
• Rigging Supervisor/Professional Rigger training.
• Proficiency in Engineering Static Lifting Calculations.
• Working knowledge of SAP & Microsoft Office.
• Strong leadership, coaching and communication skills.
