Location: Ras Laffan, Qatar

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Rigging Team Leader to oversee and lead rigging, lifting, shifting, loading, off-loading, jacking, and sliding operations within refinery and Oil & Gas facilities. The successful candidate will ensure all lifting activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with QatarEnergy Lifting Equipment Standards, Permit to Work (PTW) requirements, and company safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all rigging, lifting, loading, unloading, shifting, jacking, and sliding activities in refinery and plant facilities.
• Coordinate with the Rigging Supervisor to conduct site assessments, risk assessments, and prepare lifting method statements.
• Select appropriate lifting equipment, rigging tools, and tackles based on job requirements and applicable standards.
• Ensure all lifting operations comply with QatarEnergy Lifting Equipment Standards and Procedures.
• Conduct pre-job toolbox talks (TBT), communicate hazards, and ensure all team members acknowledge safety requirements before work begins.
• Read, interpret, and execute lifting plans, drawings, and related documentation.
• Supervise routine and non-routine rigging activities involving motors, pumps, valves, heat exchanger bundles, fin fans, blowers, bearing replacements, piping spools, and other refinery equipment.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Permit to Work (PTW) requirements and company HSE procedures.
• Maintain effective communication with supervisors, field personnel, and support teams throughout project execution.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and safe restoration of the work area upon completion of every task.
• Provide regular updates to the Rigging Supervisor regarding work progress, challenges, and scheduling requirements.

Qualifications

• Secondary School (10th Grade) or Senior Secondary School (12th Grade) with an Industrial Training Certificate.
• Minimum of 8 to 15 years of experience in the Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, or Heavy Industrial sector.
• Strong knowledge of rigging, lifting operations, lifting equipment, and load handling techniques.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop safe lifting methods.
• Able to read and interpret lifting plans, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team coordination skills.
• Familiarity with QatarEnergy Lifting Equipment Standards and Permit to Work (PTW) systems is highly preferred.
• Maximum age: 53 years old.

Required Certifications

• Relevant Third-Party Inspection (TPI) Rigging Certificates.
• Valid H2S Safety Certification.
• Relevant experience certificates from previous employers.
