Position Overview

Precision Concrete Cutting is hiring a Risk Assessor / Sidewalk Inspector to perform outdoor field inspections throughout San Diego County.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy active outdoor work, walking routes throughout neighborhoods, and documenting infrastructure conditions using mobile technology.

Risk Assessors survey sidewalks to identify trip hazards and collect data used to prepare repair proposals. The job involves walking several miles per day, measuring sidewalk conditions, documenting hazards with a mobile app, and photographing field conditions.

What You’ll Do

  • Inspect sidewalks and pedestrian pathways for trip hazards and ADA accessibility issues
  • Measure sidewalk elevation changes and record defect measurements
  • Use company mobile apps to collect field data, photos, and location information
  • Document hazards and unique site conditions accurately
  • Upload inspection data for use in project proposals
  • Travel to multiple survey locations throughout the day
  • Maintain professional conduct when interacting with residents, property managers, and the public

What You’ll Need

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English for safety and documentation purposes
  • Basic familiarity with smartphone or tablet applications
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow inspection procedures
  • Ability to walk for extended periods throughout the workday
  • Ability to kneel, measure, and perform light physical tasks in the field
  • Valid California driver’s license
  • Reliable transportation to the daily meeting location
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Applicants with experience in the following areas often transition well into this role:

  • Field surveying
  • Infrastructure inspection
  • Construction or utilities
  • GIS or data collection
  • Inventory auditing or quality control
  • Delivery or route-based work
  • Outdoor service roles such as dog walking, mail delivery, or field service

Additional Requirements

  • Driving is required for this position. Risk Assessors travel to multiple job sites daily using company vehicles.
  • Applicants must maintain a driving record acceptable to the company’s vehicle insurance carrier and safety standards, as driving is an essential function of this role.
  • Due to work performed at schools, government facilities, and military installations, selected candidates must be able to complete screening processes required for site access.

This may include:

  • Post-offer drug testing
  • Background screening conducted after a conditional offer of employment
  • Military base access screening (DBIDS) when applicable

Access to certain secured facilities is determined by the applicable authority and is not controlled by the company.

Schedule

  • Typical schedule is Monday through Friday
  • Typical field hours are approximately 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Start times may vary depending on project location
  • Occasional overtime may be required
  • Some weekend work may be required
  • Occasional travel may be required, including projects that may involve overnight stays
