Risk Engineering Internship – Summer 2026

Join HDI Global US, a leading industrial insurer and part of the Talanx Group, for a hands-on summer internship in Risk Engineering. Work directly with experienced professionals to assess complex risks, support client safety initiatives, and contribute to operational resilience across industries.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct risk assessments for industrial and commercial clients
• Develop risk improvement recommendations
• Analyze loss trends and exposure data
• Collaborate with underwriting and claims teams
• Participate in client site visits and virtual consultations

Who Should Apply

• Students pursuing degrees in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, etc.), Risk Management, or related fields
• Analytical thinkers with attention to detail
• Comfortable working with technical data and reporting tools
• Interested in property risk, fire protection, and business continuity

Location & Housing

This internship is based out of our Downtown Chicago office.

Housing is not provided as part of the internship program. Interns are responsible for securing their own accommodation.

Compensation

Interns are paid $20 per hour. Compensation may be adjusted for returning interns based on performance and continued development within the program.
