Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of clinical documentation to ensure adherence to HIPAA privacy standards and Medicare regulations.
- Monitor and evaluate compliance with FDA regulations, JCAHO accreditation requirements, and other relevant healthcare standards.
- Analyze incident reports and patient safety data to identify trends and develop targeted risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to implement CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding best practices for accurate billing and documentation.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures that support compliance management across all departments.
- Provide education and training sessions on risk reduction, regulatory updates, and best practices for staff at all levels.
- Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies during audits or investigations, ensuring transparent communication and swift resolution of issues.
Experience
- Proven experience in healthcare risk management or quality assurance roles within a clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), Medicare requirements, and FDA regulations.
- Familiarity with accreditation standards from JCAHO or similar organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex healthcare data and implement effective compliance strategies.
- Excellent communication skills for training staff, preparing reports, and liaising with regulatory bodies.
- Certification in risk management or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; ongoing professional development is highly valued. Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
