RN Executive Director of Hospice

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

QUALIFICATIONS
Experienced Healthcare Manager, preferably with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (RN) with at least one year of administrative or supervisory experience in community health programs required, or a person with five years of administrative supervisory experience with at least one-year experience in community health programs. Minimum of two years leadership experience in Hospice. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as good community relations. Must have the drive and desire to create highly functioning and accountable healthcare teams with the ability to motivate and work with fellow employees and volunteers.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Executive Director will be responsible for the daily operations for creating a working culture of quality care, while clearly communicating the vision, mission, and goals of the organization.

  • Ensure financial viability of the site through program operational planning, accountability to budgetary constraints, review of expenditures
  • Ensure program compliance with legal and regulatory requirements by identification of variances and subsequent education of staff, providing measurement, feedback and input to Policies and Procedures and guidelines, implementation and monitoring the effectiveness of P & P’s
  • Establish and maintain effective channels of communication between staff, patients and families, vendors, and other community services
  • Build cooperative relationships with team members
  • Assure adequate and proper staffing
  • Keep personnel current with state-of-the-art clinical information and practices
  • Complete reporting necessary for month and year end release
  • Assure that all members of the team receive appropriate support and recognition
  • Coordinate with other sites and management as appropriate to the mission and communication structure
  • Keep current on local and national issues and trends
  • Review and monitor staff utilization for comprehensive service and cost effectiveness
  • Ensure adequate space, equipment, and supplies are available
  • Understand and practice lines of communication within the system
  • Practice confidentiality at all times
  • Maintain openness to understanding the broader system of the organization and its functioning
  • Engage in consensus building and alliance formation within the teams.
  • Maintain a positive and honest attitude
  • Act as a resource person for all staff
  • Reinforces and participates in practices that ensures Family Satisfaction measures exceed national benchmarks

ACCOUNTABILITY
Reports directly to the President of Hospice Operations and the Governing Body

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
