Responsibilities
Provide direct RN labor and delivery care to patients during admissions and births.
Monitor maternal/fetal status and respond to abnormalities per protocol.
Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
Coordinate with obstetric team to plan and execute delivery procedures.
Document all clinical actions accurately in electronic medical records.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and track performance metrics.
Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
Utilize data and pipelines to forecast staffing needs and workload in L&D.
Maintain equipment readiness and assist with procedural setups and sterile technique.
Demonstrate a growth mindset by seeking learning opportunities and professional development.
Support from-on-site team with accountability for personal performance and outcomes.
Experience/Qualifications
Current RN licensure in New Mexico with obstetric acute care experience.
Active CPR/ACLS certification and ability to perform neonatal resuscitation per protocol.
Proven ability to monitor maternal-fetal status and respond to abnormalities promptly.
Experience in labor and delivery procedures, including instrumentation and cesarean coordination.
Strong documentation skills in electronic medical records with attention to accuracy.
Knowledge of infection control, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
Ability to forecast staffing/workload using data pipelines and BI dashboards.
Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and outcome tracking.
Excellent patient and family education skills on labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
Collaborative team player with accountability for personal performance in a high-visibility setting.
