Responsibilities

  • Provide obstetric nursing care during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum.

  • Assess patient status, monitor fetal well-being, and respond to emergencies promptly.

  • Adhere to hospital protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and support staff for smooth deliveries.

  • Lead by example in a performance-driven environment; track outcomes and contribute to quality metrics.

  • Demonstrate continuous learning through certifications, training, and hands-on practice.

  • Document clinical findings, procedures, and patient education in electronic medical records.

  • Educate patients and families on labor plans, postpartum care, and breastfeeding.

  • Prioritize patient-centered care while maintaining efficient workflow to meet targets.

  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development in a growth-focused culture.

  • Assist in pain management and participate in anesthesia-related support as required.

  • Participate in pipeline and territory planning to anticipate staffing and resource needs.


Experience/Qualifications

  • Current RN license in California with obstetric/gynecology experience.

  • Proven ability to monitor fetal status and manage intrapartum emergencies.

  • Demonstrated patient-centered care with efficiency to meet targets and metrics.

  • Certified nurse-midwife or OB-related certification preferred (e.g., CNM, NRP, AWHONN).

  • Strong collaboration with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, and support staff.

  • Knowledge of safety standards, regulatory requirements, and hospital protocols.

  • Experience documenting in electronic medical records and postpartum education.

  • Leadership and mentorship of junior staff; participate in staff development.

  • Ability to assist in pain management and anesthesia-related support as needed.

  • Willingness to participate in workforce planning, pipeline, and territory/resource forecasting.
