Overview:
UnityPoint Health St. Luke's is seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Health Registered Nurse (OHN) to join our on-site health and safety team. This role is essential in providing medical, health, and safety services to our employees, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and promoting overall workplace wellness. The Occupational Health Nurse will deliver immediate care for illness and injury, manage medical records, coordinate health screenings, and support rehabilitation efforts.

Responsibilities:
Clinical Care & Incident Response

Provide immediate treatment for workplace injuries and illnesses

Administer medications and maintain accurate dispensing records

Coordinate follow-up care and treatment plans

Record and report safety, workers’ compensation, and insurance data

Train first responders and manage emergency equipment (AEDs, first aid kits)

Support STD, LTD, and FMLA guidance for employees
Develop and manage annual Occupational Health plans
Schedule and coordinate pre-employment and post-offer physicals
Maintain employee health records and daily health service logs
Oversee respiratory fit testing and pulmonary function assessments
Monitor local regulations and implement corrective actions
Coordinate OSHA and Workers’ Compensation reporting
Initiate rehabilitation plans from day one of injury/illness
Maintain communication with employees during recovery
Coordinate transitional duty placements and Return to Work Agreements
Track rehabilitation costs and generate activity reports
Recommend independent medical exams and evaluate treatment effectiveness
Use data to develop relevant wellness programs
