REMOTE Position

This position isn't shift work, it is an on-call period of time to take calls. You don't have to be at home or in front of a computer, just available for calls. See below for details.

The Marian Center is a 14-bed inpatient geriatric psychiatry hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. The RN Intake Nurse is a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for the positive representation, and coordination of admission procedures, of The Marian Center. The RN Intake Nurse uses professionalism to answer intake calls from emergency rooms and provides information on admission referral process and admissions criteria for The Marian Center. The coordinator requests appropriate information, and uses sound clinical judgment and communication with on-call admitting provider. If additional information is needed you can also contact our Director of Nursing, business office manager and executive director. The admit nurse utilizes a confidential efax app to review information from the emergency room. The calls received are from the emergency room only. We do not take direct admits.

This position can be done remotely, with your own access to a cell phone and computer. The candidate must be licensed in the State of Utah or be part of a compact state. There is an hourly on-call wage of $3/hr plus $50 for each admission. Plus $15 for any patient we don't admit, and $30 for starting the chart. There are on-call hours available during the night on Wednesday through Sunday plus additional day time availability. We run the times 6am to 6pm and vice versa (MST). As you can see this isn't typical pay. And you can do your normal activities of going to the store, movie, dinner errands, sleep, etc. You just have to be available for the calls. Our other nurses love it. But its not for everyone. Its great for those who need or want to stay at home. Or are looking to supplement their income. But it isn't a full-time, regular position.
