Duties

  • Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to inform treatment plans.
  • Administer medications and injections accurately while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
  • Manage complex medical procedures such as IV infusions, catheterizations, wound suturing, and ventilator management with precision.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans, including discharge planning and case management.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) system PointClickCare for documentation, order entry, and medical records management.
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection/processing and basic imaging procedures like sonography or mammography when applicable.
  • Provide specialized care in areas such as long-term care, hospice & palliative medicine, geriatrics, behavioral health, and more, based on experience.
  • Support infection control practices and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and safety.
  • Assist with patient education on health coaching topics including nutrition, chronic disease management, and medication adherence.
  • Respond promptly to triage calls or urgent care needs with critical thinking and professionalism in fast-paced environments like urgent care or emergency rooms.

Experience

  • Proven nursing experience in acute care settings such as hospital medicine, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), Level I/II trauma centers or emergency rooms is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in specialized fields including cardiology (cardiac catheterization), nephrology (dialysis), ophthalmology (botulinum toxin treatment), or infectious disease care.
  • Experience working with diverse populations including pediatric (neonatal ventilator), geriatric (memory care), behavioral health patients or individuals with developmental disabilities is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or similar platforms for medical documentation and coding (ICD-10/ICD-9).
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards for sterile processing, aseptic techniques, infection control protocols and laboratory procedures like phlebotomy or specimen collection.
  • Background in medical-surgical units, outpatient clinics, assisted living facilities or home & community care environments demonstrates versatility.
  • Critical care experience including ventilator management or trauma medicine enhances ability to handle complex cases effectively.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and medical terminology to support accurate assessments and interventions. Pay: $37.00 - $46.00 per hour
