RN/LPN - Night Shift Part Time

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team for the night shift on a part-time basis. This vital role offers an opportunity to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a passion for patient advocacy, and experience working with diverse populations, including seniors and individuals with complex medical needs. This position emphasizes teamwork, professionalism, and adherence to healthcare standards, ensuring optimal patient outcomes during overnight hours.

Duties

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients across various settings, including long-term care, assisted living, and acute care environments.
  • Monitor and document vital signs, medication administration, and patient assessments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
  • Assist with medical procedures including IV infusion, catheterization, venipuncture, and sterile processing techniques.
  • Manage airway support and ventilator care for patients requiring respiratory assistance.
  • Conduct physical examinations and evaluate patient conditions to inform treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and coordination of post-acute care services.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure accurate medical documentation in accordance with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards.
  • Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral health support.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies such as acute pain episodes or trauma situations within Level I or Level II trauma center protocols.
  • Support infection control practices and adhere to safety guidelines during all patient interactions.

Experience

  • Proven clinical experience in critical care settings such as ICU, emergency room, or trauma centers is highly desirable.
  • Prior work in medical-surgical units or hospital medicine environments demonstrates strong foundational skills.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, or in hospice care enhances patient-centered approach capabilities.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is essential for documentation accuracy.
  • Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to pain management, and diagnostic evaluation procedures is required.
  • Previous roles involving triage or urgent care provide valuable insight into rapid assessment and intervention skills.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are advantageous.
