Overview

Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Administer medications via injection, IV infusion, and other routes following aseptic technique and safety protocols.
- Assist with complex medical procedures including suturing, catheterization, tube feeding, and wound care such as ostomy management.
- Support acute pain management, trauma medicine, and emergency response efforts in high-pressure environments like Level I trauma centers or emergency rooms.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, phlebotomy, and basic imaging procedures like sonography or mammography when applicable.
- Provide patient education on health coaching topics including medication administration, disease management (e.g., infectious disease care), and post-discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and working with individuals with disabilities or memory care needs to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
Qualifications
- Valid RN or LPN license with current state licensure required; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are preferred.
- Experience working in diverse clinical settings including hospital medicine, ICU, emergency room, outpatient clinics, or long-term care facilities.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and coding (ICD-10/ICD-9).
- Demonstrated skills in IV insertion, venipuncture, sterile processing techniques, and infection control practices.
- Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy to support patient assessment and diagnostic evaluation across various specialties including geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, and trauma medicine.
- Critical care experience preferred; familiarity with trauma centers (Level I/II), neonatal ventilators, dialysis procedures, or hospice & palliative medicine is a plus.
