We are seeking an experienced Road Engineer to support and deliver road construction and maintenance works, including AACM (Annual Asset Condition Maintenance) and maintenance of bridges and structures. The role involves site supervision, technical coordination, quality control, and ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and municipal standards for infrastructure projects of similar nature and magnitude.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage road construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance works in accordance with approved designs and specifications.
- Support AACM programs and maintenance activities for roads, bridges, and structures.
- Monitor site activities including earthworks, pavement layers, asphalt works, drainage, and associated structures.
- Coordinate with bridge and structural teams to ensure integration of road and structure works.
- Review and implement method statements, work programs, and traffic management plans.
- Ensure materials, workmanship, and construction methods comply with project and authority standards.
- Conduct site inspections, measurements, and quality control checks.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, utilities, and relevant authorities.
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) requirements.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and technical documentation.
- Assist in resolving site technical issues and support corrective actions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university (mandatory).
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in road construction and maintenance projects of similar nature and magnitude.
- Proven experience in AACM projects and maintenance of bridges and structures is required.
- Strong knowledge of road works including earthworks, subgrade, sub-base, base course, asphalt paving, and drainage systems.
- Familiarity with maintenance techniques for pavements, bridges, and associated civil infrastructure.
- Knowledge of local and international standards (Abu Dhabi Municipality, DMT, AASHTO, BS, or equivalent).
- Experience in site supervision, quality control, and coordination of infrastructure works.
- Proficiency in engineering and reporting tools (AutoCAD, MS Office; Primavera or MS Project is an advantage).
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Experience in the UAE or GCC region is an advantage.
