Job Description:
The Road & Pavement Site Engineer is responsible for supervising and inspecting all road and pavement works on site to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise day-to-day roadworks: subgrade, sub-base, base, asphalt, kerbs, and paving.
- Check levels, alignments, thicknesses, and workmanship in line with approved drawings and method statements.
- Coordinate site testing (FDT, plate load, asphalt cores, material sampling) and review results.
- Inspect and verify materials against approved submittals.
- Raise and follow up non-conformities and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with survey, utilities, and drainage teams to resolve site issues.
- Prepare daily reports, IRs, and progress updates.
- Ensure adherence to HSE requirements at all times.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 5–10 years’ site experience in road and pavement construction.
- Good knowledge of road construction, compaction, and asphalt works.
- Familiarity with AASHTO or equivalent local standards.
- Ability to read civil drawings and typical details.
- Basic AutoCAD skills (Civil 3D is an advantage).
- Strong coordination, communication, and QA/QC awareness.
