We are looking for a hands-on Roblox Game Designer with proven experience building live Roblox games to design, implement, and iterate on maps, environments, and interactive gameplay objects.
This role is for someone who actually ships—you’ve designed worlds in Roblox Studio, implemented assets into functioning gameplay, and understand how players interact with space, flow, and mechanics inside Roblox experiences.
If you’ve only done concept art or watched tutorials, this is not the role.
If you’ve published, contributed to, or maintained real Roblox games, we want to talk.
What You’ll Do
- Design and build immersive maps, arenas, hubs, and environments in Roblox Studio
- Create and implement gameplay objects (interactive props, obstacles, collectibles, energy systems, spawn points, etc.)
- Collaborate with developers to ensure maps and objects support core gameplay mechanics
- Optimize environments for performance, scale, and player experience
- Iterate on designs using player feedback, analytics, and playtesting
- Maintain clean, organized assets and consistent design systems
- Contribute creatively to world-building, themes, and visual identity
Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
- Direct experience designing and implementing maps and objects in Roblox Studio
- Shipped Roblox games or live experiences (personal, team, or studio projects)
- Strong understanding of:
- Roblox Studio tooling
- Terrain Editor
- Parts, Models, Unions
- Workspace organization and asset optimization
- Ability to translate gameplay concepts into playable environments
- Familiarity with gameplay flow, player movement, and spatial design
- Portfolio or live Roblox links demonstrating actual in-game work
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Basic knowledge of Lua scripting (or ability to collaborate closely with scripters)
- Experience with:
- Competitive or battle-style games
- Multiplayer map balance
- Progression-based or energy-driven gameplay systems
- Understanding of Roblox performance constraints (memory, part count, lag mitigation)
- Experience working with distributed or remote dev teams
What We’re Building
- Gameplay-first Roblox experiences
- Competitive and cooperative game modes
- Custom environments, interactive systems, and evolving worlds
- A platform designed to grow, iterate, and scale—not one-off projects
Why You’ll Love This Role
- Creative ownership over real, playable content
- Your work ships into live games—fast
- Flexible work structure
- Opportunity to grow with a larger game universe and long-term roadmap
- Collaborate with experienced product, gameplay, and world-building teams
