Job Role:
The Robotic Lab Assistant will support research, testing, and development activities in a laboratory environment by operating, maintaining, and programming robotic systems. This role bridges laboratory science with automation technology, ensuring experiments are conducted efficiently, safely, and with high precision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Robotic system operation: Set up, calibrate, and operate robotic arms, automated pipetting systems, and other lab automation tools.
- Experiment support: Assist scientists in conducting experiments by preparing samples, loading materials, and monitoring robotic workflows.
- Maintenance & troubleshooting: Perform routine checks, preventive maintenance, and resolve technical issues with robotic equipment.
- Data collection & reporting: Record experimental results, ensure accuracy of automated processes, and prepare documentation.
- Safety compliance: Follow laboratory safety protocols, maintain clean workspaces, and ensure robotic systems meet compliance standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with researchers, engineers, and lab technicians to optimize automation processes.
- Continuous improvement: Suggest enhancements to robotic workflows and contribute to innovation in lab automation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical expertise: Hands-on experience with robotic systems, automation software, and lab instrumentation.
- Programming knowledge: Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, or other scripting languages for automation.
- Analytical skills: Ability to interpret data, troubleshoot issues, and optimize robotic workflows.
- Attention to detail: Strong focus on accuracy, precision, and compliance in laboratory settings.
- Communication skills: Ability to document processes clearly and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree: Master’s in Robotics, Automation, or Life Sciences.
- Industry experience: Prior work in pharmaceutical, biotech, or research labs with robotic automation.
- Certifications: Training in laboratory safety, robotics programming, or automation systems.
- Laboratory-based role with exposure to robotic equipment and scientific instruments.
- Requires adherence to strict safety and quality protocols.
