Duties

• Safely operate roll-off trucks equipped with hydraulic lift systems to load, transport, and unload waste or recyclable materials
• Drive assigned routes efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Load and unload freight using the truck’s hydraulic system, ensuring secure placement of containers for transport
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and fluid levels
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries on schedule
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and vehicle maintenance records
• Assist with loading or unloading materials when necessary using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or dump trucks

Skills

• Proven experience driving commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks
• Strong knowledge of route driving, load securement, and freight handling procedures
• Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently
• Familiarity with specialized trailers including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or freight containers is a plus
• Skilled in load & unload operations using hydraulic systems or forklifts when required
• Excellent driving record with a focus on safety compliance and defensive driving techniques
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform vehicle inspections regularly
