Join our dynamic team as a Roll-Off Driver and take charge of safely operating roll-off trucks to transport and dispose of waste, recyclables, and other freight. This energetic role offers the opportunity to work outdoors, navigate diverse routes, and play a vital part in maintaining efficient waste management operations. As a Roll-Off Driver, you will be responsible for loading, unloading, and securing freight while ensuring compliance with safety standards. Your expertise in truck driving and freight handling will contribute directly to our commitment to environmental responsibility and customer satisfaction.

Duties

• Safely operate roll-off trucks and tractor-trailers equipped with manual transmissions, ensuring adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations
• Load, unload, and secure freight such as waste containers, recyclable materials, or other cargo using appropriate equipment like forklifts or hydraulic lifts
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and fluid levels
• Manage route driving efficiently by planning optimal paths to meet delivery schedules while maintaining safety standards
• Assist with the loading and unloading of freight using dump trucks or flatbed trailers when necessary
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery statuses, or any vehicle issues
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle inspections for compliance purposes

Skills

• Proven experience in truck driving, especially with commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks
• Skilled in operating manual transmission vehicles confidently and safely
• Knowledge of refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and freight handling techniques
• Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using forklifts or other loading equipment
• Strong understanding of route driving strategies to optimize delivery times and fuel efficiency
• Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; familiarity with DOT regulations is a plus
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform tasks requiring manual effort in various weather conditions
