Job Summary

Tally's Towing & Recovery is now hiring! We are seeking a reliable, safety-minded, and motivated Rollback Tow Truck Driver to service the Henderson and Evansville areas. In this role, you will operate a light-to-medium duty flatbed (rollback) truck to safely transport disabled, damaged, or repossessed vehicles and equipment.

Pre-Employment Requirements

To be considered for employment with Tally's Towing & Recovery, all applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Must have a clean / good driving record (a recent Motor Vehicle Record check will be conducted).
• Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Schedule & Availability

This position offers a steady base schedule with additional income potential through a rotating on-call schedule:

• Base Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday (Day shift).
• On-Call Rotation: Every other night and every other weekend.
• Note: On-call availability is required to respond promptly to after-hours emergency calls, accidents, and police dispatches in the Henderson and Evansville zones.

Key Responsibilities

• Vehicle Transport & Recovery: Safely load, secure, and unload vehicles, equipment, and machinery onto the rollback bed using winches, chains, and tie-down straps.
• Roadside Assistance: Perform basic roadside services including jumpstarts, tire changes, and vehicle lockouts.
• Safe Vehicle Operation: Drive defensively and alertly at all times, adhering to all local, state, and federal traffic laws across state/city lines.
• Scene Management: Assess recovery situations (including accidents) and position the truck safely to block traffic and protect the scene.
• Customer Service: Act as the face of Tally's Towing & Recovery. Greet customers professionally and handle stressful situations with a calm, helpful attitude.
• Documentation: Complete digital or paper dispatch logs, invoices, and pre-existing vehicle damage reports (including taking photos) before transport.
• Daily Inspections: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, fluids, hydraulics, and securement gear to ensure operational safety.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Previous experience operating a rollback truck or working in the towing/automotive industry is highly preferred, but we are willing to train the right individual.
• Licensing:
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a verifiably clean history.
• No CDL required, though holding a Class A or B CDL is considered a valuable asset.
• Age Requirement: Must meet minimum age requirements dictated by our commercial insurance policy (typically 23+).
• Medical: Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, cold).
• Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs frequently (chains, tow dollies, tools).
• Frequent bending, kneeling, crawling under vehicles, and climbing onto the truck bed.
