Role Overview

Recycleworks is seeking an experienced and dynamic Transportation Manager to oversee our Roll-off Truck Division and Waste Water Truck Division. The Transportation Manager will be responsible for managing the planning, coordination, and execution of transportation operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant transport of waste and recyclable materials. This role will play a critical part in supporting Recycleworks’ growth by optimizing fleet operations, ensuring driver safety, and maintaining high standards of customer service.

Responsibilities

• Fleet Management: Oversee the operation and maintenance of a fleet of roll-off and waste water trucks, ensuring vehicles are safe, compliant, and ready for daily operations. Conduct regular inspections and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
• Route Planning and Scheduling: Plan and supervise daily and weekly routes for both divisions to maximize efficiency and meet customer schedules. Coordinate with dispatchers and drivers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all transportation activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including those governing hazardous materials, waste disposal, and driver safety. Develop and implement procedures for safe handling and disposal of waste materials.
• Team Leadership: Manage and train a team of drivers and support staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and professionalism. Conduct employee training programs on safe driving, equipment handling, and company policies.
• Operational Efficiency: Monitor transportation costs, track orders using logistics software, and maintain accurate records of miles driven, fuel consumption, and waste transported. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
• Customer Service: Collaborate with clients and site personnel to ensure high-quality service during waste collection and disposal. Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
• Safety and Training: Implement and enforce safety protocols for drivers and equipment operators. Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to minimize risks and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Growth Support: Support Recycleworks’ rapid expansion by developing scalable transportation processes, coordinating with other departments, and contributing to strategic planning for fleet and operational growth.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience in transportation or waste management may be considered.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation or logistics management, with at least 2 years in the waste management industry. Experience managing roll-off or waste water truck operations is highly desirable.
• Licensing: Valid Class B CDL preferred but not required. Knowledge of DOT regulations and waste transportation compliance is essential.
• Skills:
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
• Proficiency in logistics software for route planning, order tracking, and fleet management.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills for interacting with clients and team members.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and environmental regulations related to waste transportation.
• Ability to manage budgets, monitor costs, and drive operational efficiency.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to occasionally perform fieldwork, including inspecting vehicles and overseeing operations in various weather conditions.
