Roofing Membrane Welder

Position Overview

The Welderis a skilled production role responsible for hot air welding PVC and TPO membrane products into finished, watertight assemblies that meet customer and quality standards. This position requires strong attention to detail, consistency, and pride in workmanship.

Welders are expected to work in a self-motivated, disciplined manner, maintaining steady production while ensuring every weld is complete, properly fused, and structurally sound.

What You’ll Do

  • Weld PVC and TPO membrane products according to work instructions and product specifications
  • Produce watertight products by welding all seams completely and correctly
  • Apply proper heat, pressure, and technique to ensure strong, consistent welds
  • Inspect your own work to verify seams are fully sealed and welded tight
  • Identify and correct weld defects before products move downstream
  • Maintain consistent output while meeting quality and safety expectations

Quality, Inspection & Accountability

  • Ensure the entirety of all seams are welded with no skips, cold welds, or weak points
  • Perform visual and hands-on inspections of finished products
  • Take ownership of weld quality from start to finish
  • Stop and address issues immediately rather than passing defects forward

Production Flow & Team Support

  • Work efficiently to maintain production flow and meet demand
  • Communicate material or prep issues to the prep team or leads as soon as they are recognized
  • Stay organized and ready to work to minimize downtime
  • Support other production areas as needed when welding demand allows

Housekeeping & Safety

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe welding area
  • Properly care for welding equipment and tools
  • Follow all safety rules, procedures, and PPE requirements
  • Report equipment issues, defects, or safety concerns immediately

Flexibility & Additional Duties

  • Flow to work and assist other departments when appropriate
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor, Lead, or Manager

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience welding PVC and/or TPO membrane preferred (training may be provided)
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to work independently and stay productive without constant direction
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-minded
  • Willingness to learn multiple products and welding techniques

Position Details

  • Hourly, non-exempt
  • Skilled production role

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
