Rooming Assistant / Medical Scribe

Job Summary
Lakes Dermatology, P.A. has an opening for a full-time Medical Scribe/Rooming Assistant to work alongside our award-winning physicians at our St. Louis Park/Burnsville clinics.

We offer a great work-life balance with no weekends, no on-call, and no night shifts.

Duties

• Accurately document patient encounters in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems in real-time during medical examinations and procedures
• Proficient computer knowledge with the ability to learn the electronic record system
• Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories, vital signs, and medication lists
• Assisting the physician with lasers, surgeries, and other medical procedures
• Blood draws
• Wound care and suture removals
• Support clinical procedures
• Stocking/prepping rooms
• Assist with regular clinical duties
• Patient phone calls, triage, prior authorizations
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and typing skills
• Ability to work as a team in a fast-paced environment
• Compassionate with a passion for excellence in healthcare
• Assisting reception staff with duties such as making copies or scanning documents when needed
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

• Prior experience in clinical settings is preferred but not required
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding systems (preferred)
• Hands-on experience with EHR systems and medical documentation tools (preferred)
• Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately in fast-paced environments
• Ability to work out of both of our St. Louis Park and Burnsville clinics

This is a full time position and we will not be able to accommodate individuals looking for a summer opportunity.

Benefits Include: Health, Dental, Vision, Life, HSA, 401K (with employer match), PTO, Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST), and Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) through the state of MN. Benefits available the first of the month following 30 days of employment. 401K available after 1 year of employment.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
