Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Expert with an Electrical Engineering background to support investigations into power system failures, disturbances, equipment malfunctions, and operational incidents.

The role involves structured problem-solving, technical analysis, and clear documentation to identify underlying causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions for power and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support root cause analysis investigations for power system incidents, outages, and failures
• Analyze disturbance events, protection operations, and system behavior
• Review SCADA data, event logs, protection relay records, and operational reports
• Identify technical, procedural, and human factors contributing to incidents
• Apply structured RCA methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys, Fault Tree Analysis, Cause-and-Effect)
• Develop clear RCA reports outlining findings, root causes, and recommendations
• Support utilities and stakeholders during incident reviews and technical discussions
• Recommend corrective and preventive actions to improve system reliability and safety
• Coordinate with power system engineers, operations teams, and clients

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in power systems, electrical engineering, or incident investigations
• Hands-on experience with RCA methodologies and incident investigation processes
• Strong understanding of power system operations, protection, and equipment behavior
• Ability to analyze complex technical data and translate it into clear conclusions
• Strong technical writing and reporting skills
• Experience working with utilities, grid operators, or large industrial facilities

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

• Experience supporting utility outage investigations or system disturbance reviews
• Familiarity with NERC, IEC, IEEE, or utility operating standards
• Experience working in Saudi Arabia or the GCC
• Exposure to forensic engineering or failure analysis projects
• Professional certifications or progress toward licensure
