Route Sales Driver

Sales route drivers that work for RDM deliver products to customers within a 300 mile radius. They provide customer service to the customers on the route and must be able to travel for training in North Carolina, as well as each week for day trips and overnight trips to our customer's locations. The driver will contact the customers on the route prior to the visit to place orders and maintain the customer accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Drive dedicated routes to deliver and collect packages, ensuring on-time performance and accurate delivery records.
  • Provide exceptional in-person customer service, answer questions, upsell where appropriate, and maintain positive client relationships.
  • Manage customer and client accounts, record orders, and update customer information in the system with accuracy.
  • Load, unload, and merchandise products as needed, adhering to safety and lifting guidelines; perform routine vehicle checks and maintenance.
  • Communicate route status and any issues with customers; prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently across daily deliveries.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record; standard or commercial driving as required
  • Experience in route sales, customer service, and in-person account management
  • Strong communication and upselling abilities; proficient in merchandising and basic math
  • Able to handle heavy lifting and repetitive physical tasks; strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of pricing and basic route optimization; ability to follow dedicated driving routes and maintain customer records
  • Location-specific driving experience and excellent customer relations at the point of sale and delivery

Summary

As a Route Sales Driver, you will play a key role in delivering products to customers while providing outstanding service and building strong account relationships. You will leverage core skills in driving, customer service, sales, communication, location-specific driving, and merchandising to ensure accurate deliveries, effective merchandising displays, and positive customer experiences. Premium skills in pricing, math, upselling, and commercial driving will support revenue growth and efficiency. Your role also benefits from organizational capabilities and the ability to manage logistics and customer accounts in a fast-paced environment. Reports to the Route Manager.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $35.00 per hour
