We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our team as a Junior Software Engineer. This position is with a small, established team based in the DFW area, offering a collaborative and relaxed work environment that fosters innovation. The primary workplace for this position is Aechelon Technology's Farmer's Branch, TX location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for developing and maintaining application-level software that simulates airborne radar systems and other sensors for use in a variety of training devices. The software is written in the C++ programming language on Windows and Linux platforms.
Responsible for performing tasks related to the following areas:
- Software Design
- Software Implementation
- Technical Documentation
- Team Collaboration
- Software Integration and Testing

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

In-depth knowledge and experience programming in C/C++ languages
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work with export-controlled technology

DESIRED COMPETENCIES

Technical Expertise:
- Strong foundation in mathematics and physics
- Knowledge of radar technology and signal processing
- Experience with OpenGL and graphics application programming
- Background in real-time, multi-processing systems
- Familiarity with tools for geographic data processing (e.g. KML, vector files, digital elevation models, satellite imagery)
Developmental Tools & Practices
- Experience with defect tracking systems (Bugzilla, Jira)
- Proficiency with configuration management tools (Preforce, Git)
- Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation

REQUIRED EDUCATION, ELIGIBILITY AND EXPERIENCE:

B.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar technical field
