City of Auburn Legal Department is looking for a passionate
Rule 9 Intern to join our dynamic team! This is your chance to work alongside experienced attorneys, step inside the courtroom, and
immerse yourself in the vast breadth of municipal law.
As a Rule 9 Intern, you'll ultimately report to the City Attorney but
, on a daily basis will work directly with the Deputy City Attorney inthe Civil Divisionand the Chief Prosecutor in the Criminal Division, gaining
valuable insight into the role of a City Attorney. Expect
hands-on exposure to legal decision making and interactions with all levels of City staff.

We are looking for students who:

Will have completed two (2) years of law school by their start date
-
Possess strong legal research and writing skills

Can demonstrate ability to work well with others in a high-volume setting
We are asking for a commitment through our 10-week program, from June 16th-August 22nd. Preference will be given to candidates that are available to work up to 40 hours per week throughout the program. If you are a top candidate, your availability and assigned schedule will be discussed with you before moving into the background check process.
Our core business hours are Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm, with an hour lunch. We are physically in the office every day, and you will have an assigned desk with a City issued computer! This position is not eligible for remote work, so you must be able to commit to being onsite to be considered for this role.
The pay rates for this position will be offered as follows:
Postgraduates: Step 3 - $23.15
