The Room Service Runner is responsible for delivering food and beverage orders to guest rooms in a timely, accurate, and professional manner at Morongo Casino Resort & Spa. This role ensures that all orders are presented according to quality standards while providing courteous and efficient service. The Room Service Runner contributes to an exceptional guest experience by maintaining attention to detail, cleanliness, and responsiveness in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Delivers food and beverage orders to guest rooms promptly, courteously, and in accordance with presentation and service standards.
- Verifies all items on orders are accurate, complete, and properly presented prior to delivery.
- Provides professional, attentive guest service, assisting with inquiries, menu questions, and special requests whenever possible.
- Processes food and beverage transactions accurately, including payments, discounts, and comps, in compliance with company policies.
- Utilizes proper tray handling, serving techniques, and guest interaction standards as outlined by departmental procedures.
- Retrieves trays, carts, and service ware from guest hallways promptly to maintain a clean and organized environment.
- Maintains cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the workstation, service pantry, and delivery equipment throughout the shift.
- Restocks supplies such as condiments, utensils, napkins, and beverages to ensure continuous service readiness.
- Reports service-related issues, delays, or guest feedback to the supervisor or management for timely resolution.
- Adheres to all food safety, health, and sanitation regulations in compliance with company and departmental standards.
- Maintains professional appearance, grooming, and uniform standards in alignment with company policies.
- Completes assigned opening, side work, and closing duties to support smooth and efficient room service operations.
- Verifies guest identification to ensure compliance with alcohol service laws and adheres to all ABC regulations, RBS training standards, and internal policies.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned to ensure guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance or support to other team members.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional coursework in hospitality or food service is a plus.
- Food Handler Certification required or must be obtained upon hire.
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in food and beverage service, preferably in room service or hotel operations.
- Ability to deliver food and beverage orders promptly, accurately, and with attention to presentation standards.
- Strong communication and customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Familiarity with basic food handling, tray setup, and safety procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and follow instructions precisely.
- Prior experience in a resort, casino, or full-service hotel is preferred.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must have successfully completed a background check and obtained a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency, as required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and guests.

- Manual Dexterity: Regularly uses hands and fingers to handle utensils, tray setups, linens, beverages, and food items with care and precision to maintain presentation and guest satisfaction.
- Mobility: Continuously moves throughout guest floors, hallways, elevators, and service areas; requires walking, standing, bending, pushing, lifting, and reaching for extended periods during shifts.
- Stationary Work: Rarely remains seated; duties are performed on foot, delivering and clearing guest orders throughout the hotel.
- Tool Operation: Frequent use of service carts, hot boxes, beverage dispensers, and tray stands; must safely maneuver carts through elevators and tight corridors.
- Visual Acuity: Requires near and far vision to read order tickets, navigate room numbers, inspect food presentation, and ensure tray setup meets brand standards.
- Working Conditions: Routinely works in guest-facing and back-of-house environments with exposure to varying temperatures, lighting, and walking surfaces. Regular exposure to a smoking environment while transitioning through casino or public areas.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires the ability to adapt and perform under pressure. The casino operates with moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment, requiring team members to work comfortably in these conditions.
WORKING HOURS:
Morongo Casino Resort & Spa operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; therefore, flexibility in scheduling is essential. Team members must be available to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs and may include overtime, as well as work on both weekdays and weekends.
