Rural Carrier Associate

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Rural Carrier Associate to join our team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of mail and packages to rural areas. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to handle physical demands associated with the role.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mail and packages to designated rural routes in a timely manner.
• Operate various vehicles, including box trucks and manual transmission vehicles, while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Load and unload mail and packages, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and ensure all deliveries are accounted for.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries or concerns from customers during delivery.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safe operation.
• Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including moving items with forklifts or pallet jacks.

Experience

• Previous experience in customer service is highly desirable.
• Experience in warehouse operations or as a delivery driver is preferred.
• Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and practices is beneficial.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and moving of packages weighing up to 70 pounds.
• Experience with route driving is an asset, along with knowledge of local roads and areas.
• Prior experience operating forklifts or pallet jacks is advantageous.
