Title: Residential Case Manager (evening)
Classification: Non-exempt
Supervision: Reports to SafeHouse Manager, provides no direct supervision
Hours: 40 hours/week (1:00pm-9:30pm)
Salary: $23.26 per hour
Purpose: Provides oversight of comprehensive service delivery, including direct assistance to, and case management of, safehouse residents and their children. Provides eligibility screening, crisis intervention and support to clients seeking services.
About Alternatives to Violence:
Alternatives to Violence provides shelter, advocacy, education and resources for people impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. Since 1982, Alternatives to Violence has offered victims the opportunity to heal both emotionally and physically in a supportive environment. Each year, we provide emergency shelter, safety planning, advocacy, information and referrals to local resources, crisis intervention, and housing resources to over 800 people.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
· Ensures comprehensive service provision to residential (staying in emergency safehouse) adults and children including crisis intervention, individual and group advocacy, domestic violence information/education, safety planning, life skills support and referrals to other community resources.
· Performs eligibility screenings, intake processes, safety planning, crisis intervention, needs assessment for services, and community referrals.
· Provides concrete case management and access to agency and external resources by connecting clients to appropriate community-based resources.
Meets regularly with clients to support case plan accomplishment.
· Keeps clear documentation, while completing required reports for files and services in a timely and accurate manner.
· Greets walk-in clients as needed.
· Assists with crisis calls, front line duties as needed.
· Is required to cover at least one week of ON CALL per month for SafeHouse, as needed.
· Provides case management notes and updates to Residential Program Manager.
· Participates in case review with other staff, including housing case manager, to insure coordination of services for residential clients.
Other duties and responsibilities:
· Assures that the health and safety needs of clients are met.
· Participates in staff meetings.
· Participates in compliance, quality assurance and quality improvement activities as directed.
· Assists clients in transitioning into permanent housing.
· Provides light housekeeping as needed.
· Performs other duties as assigned by Residential Program Manager or Executive Director.
· May be asked to Provide community education/training, outreach, and community support regarding information on domestic violence.
Preferred qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field, or minimum two years of direct service in non-profit human service agency.
· Direct service experience working with domestic violence, sexual assault, violent crime victims, and people in crisis.
· Ability to communicate and work well with survivors from a variety of racial, cultural, and economic backgrounds and with various religious beliefs, lifestyles, sexual orientations, age variance and differing abilities.
· Experience in maintaining accurate and timely case management files.
· Demonstrated ability to work well independently and as part of a team environment, with proven ability to assist and support in the development of team decisions and program policies.
· Ability to demonstrate dependability and reliability.
· Familiarity with multiple systems (i.e., human services, health, criminal justice, CPS, etc.).
· Knowledge of community resources and partnering agencies.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Understanding of secondary trauma, client trauma responses and crisis management.
· Ability and availability to complete required advocate training provided by ATV.
Pay: $23.26 per hour
