Safety Coach/Shuttle Driver

Job Summary
The Eastern Safety Coach/Shuttle Driver will be responsible for creating and implementing comprehensive safety training programs for employees at all levels

within the organization. You will facilitate group coaching sessions, fostering a collective commitment to safety across teams, while providing constructive

feedback to help individuals and groups enhance their safety performance. Additionally, you will be responsible for shuttling company drivers to their desired

vehicle, impacting the speed at which they are able to load their trucks. This dual role ensures that the company adheres to DOT industry best practices and

regulatory requirements, while also assisting our frontline employees with their crucial daily processes.

Duties

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive safety training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Keep abreast of DOT industry best practices and regulatory requirements to ensure the training content is up to date.
  • Facilitate group coaching sessions to promote a collective commitment to safety within the driver team.
  • Collaborate with drivers to understand the factors influencing their behaviors and develop strategies for improvement.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of corrective and preventive action plans. Develop and implement initiatives to celebrate and recognize safety achievements.
  • Develop reports summarizing incident findings, root causes, and recommendations for preventive measures.
  • Shuttle drivers to the vehicles in shuttle van to assist in quicker loading for fleet.
  • Audit truck and trailers prior to transport.
  • Audit driver loads to ensure all DOT and Company standards are being met.
  • Assist Maintenance and Operations departments as needed.

Qualifications

  • Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record
  • Knowledgeable of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • 3-5 years of experience in occupational health, DOT, or related industry required
  • High school diploma (required), Bachelors preferred
  • Ability to fabricate effective training programs tailored to DOT safety.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis to identify areas for improvement in athlete performance or team dynamics.
  • Safe driver, with attention to detail and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently, and as a team.

Pay: $23.50 - $26.50 per hour
