Safety Manager, EHSS

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHSS) Manager to lead the development, implementation, and continual improvement of site safety, environmental, and security programs. This role ensures compliance with local, country, and corporate regulations while driving best‑practice standardization across our Lancaster, PA sites.

Responsibilities

Environmental, Health & Safety Leadership

  • Plan, implement, and manage safety and environmental policies and procedures in full compliance with country, local, and company regulations, while standardizing best practices across Lancaster site operations.
  • Ensure timely submittal, acquisition, and maintenance of all environmental permits and regulatory reports, supporting compliance and ongoing environmental impact‑reduction efforts.
  • Oversee inspection and evaluation of work environments, equipment, and manufacturing/office processes to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Identify potentially hazardous biological, chemical, and radiological materials and oversee the collection of samples for analysis.
  • Develop and manage companywide EHSS training programs, including minimum requirements, standard programs, and policy frameworks to ensure consistency across sites.
  • Train employees on required safety practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., powered industrial vehicles, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, chemical and toxin handling, equipment safety).
  • Champion a culture of inclusion, accountability, and employee engagement to achieve safety objectives. Collaborate with regulatory agencies, safety committees, managers, and employees on corrective actions.

Incident Management & Metrics

  • Establish standardized measurement and corrective‑action processes to ensure all accidents, injuries, and near‑misses are thoroughly investigated and hazards eliminated where possible.
  • Coordinate reporting, tracking, and trend analysis for safety and environmental incidents, and support both annual and long‑term goals to reduce injuries, illnesses, and environmental incidents.

Security Management

  • Design, implement, improve, and standardize security programs and best practices that support strategic business objectives and ensure the physical protection of employees and facilities.
  • Direct and develop security personnel, including recruitment, selection, performance management, and training for OpSec staff and contracted security teams.
  • Monitor compliance with security standards, support customer compliance and inventory audits, and lead all related corrective actions.
  • Develop security risk‑assessment methods and corrective‑action procedures to investigate losses, security policy violations, audit failures, or breaches.
  • Implement and manage security training programs to ensure consistent readiness and compliance across the organization.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of principles and practices of security management, including business management, personnel, administrative, security prevention, investigatory practices, and related legal responsibilities
  • Excellent MS Office Skills – Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
  • Knowledge of relevant EHSS laws and regulations and working knowledge of industrial ergonomics within Crane divisions
  • The ability to work accurately paying close attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to accommodate ever-changing working environment and demands placed upon it.
  • Must be able to fit into a culture where teamwork, empowerment and dedication are of utmost importance.
  • Excellent analytic, project management, organizational, written, and oral communication, and presentation skills.

Experience

  • High school diploma or GED (Required).
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, occupational health and safety, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with AI is a plus.
  • Experience with CWA 14641 or ISO 14298
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in HSSE management role, with experience leading a global HSSE effort and staff, preferably in a multi-facility/international manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated measurable results in change management and leadership ability to drive and sustain improvement in fast paced and continuously changing environment. · Knowledge and experience maintaining state of the art integrated electronic security systems
