Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and qualified Safety Officer to oversee and implement safety protocols on our ongoing MEP project. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in occupational health and safety, hold a NEBOSH certification, and have a relevant Bachelor’s Degree or 3-year Diploma.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with established safety standards and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections on site and rectify non-compliance issues.
- Prepare and maintain safety documentation including risk assessments, method statements, and incident reports.
- Organize and deliver toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness sessions for workers.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, or near misses, and recommend corrective actions.
- Liaise with the project management team, subcontractors, and site personnel to enforce safety protocols.
- Ensure the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper safety signage across the site.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local health and safety laws and standards applicable to MEP works.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in construction safety, preferably within MEP projects.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or 3-Year Diploma in Engineering or related discipline.
- Certifications: NEBOSH IGC is mandatory.
- Skills: Strong communication, reporting, and observational skills.
- Availability: Should be available to join immediately.
