SAFETY OFFICER (Construction)

Job Title: Safety Officer (Construction Industry)
Location: Sharjah, UAE
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Officer with a strong background in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, minimizing workplace risks, and promoting a culture of safety across all project sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor health & safety policies and procedures on construction sites
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments
• Ensure compliance with UAE safety regulations and company standards
• Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
• Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions for workers
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports
• Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation
• Ensure proper use of PPE and safety equipment at all times
• Coordinate with project managers and site engineers on safety matters
• Monitor subcontractors’ compliance with safety requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in construction projects (UAE experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge of UAE safety regulations and standards
• Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are mandatory
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to handle emergency situations effectively
• Proficiency in MS Office

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Villas or large-scale construction projects
• First Aid and Fire Safety certification
• Valid UAE driving license is an advantage

Pay: Up to AED5,500.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Dubai: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Education:

• Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

• Safety Officer in UAE: 4 years (Required)
