Safety Officer / HSE Officer

Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding Company is a Qatar-based industrial holding company that owns and manages major petrochemical assets producing polymers, chemicals, and related industrial products through its subsidiaries.

A Safety Officer in the oil & gas, petrochemical, construction, or industrial sector is responsible for ensuring workplace safety, preventing accidents, and enforcing HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) regulations.

Job Description

Position Title: Safety Officer / HSE Officer

Main Responsibilities

• Monitor workplace safety conditions and unsafe practices
• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and Qatar labor/safety regulations
• Conduct daily site inspections and safety audits
• Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses
• Prepare safety reports and documentation
• Monitor permit-to-work (PTW) activities
• Ensure proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• Support emergency response and evacuation procedures
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and contractors
• Monitor confined space entry, hot work, lifting operations, and work-at-height activities
• Maintain safety records and incident statistics
• Conduct risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA)

Supervise:

• Shutdown and maintenance activities
• Chemical handling safety
• Gas testing and atmospheric monitoring
• Fire prevention systems
• Process safety compliance
• Contractor safety management

Required Qualifications Education

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in:
• Occupational Safety
• Engineering
• Industrial Safety
• Environmental Science
