Safety Representative - Civil Construction

We are seeking a qualified and proactive Safety Representative to join our team. This role is key to maintaining a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment while promoting a strong safety culture across all project phases.

The ideal candidate has a hands-on background in construction safety, with experience in high-security or airfield environments or civil. You’ll collaborate closely with project managers, supervisors, and field personnel to ensure every aspect of the job meets the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Enforce compliance with OSHA, FAA, DOT, and company safety policies.
• Conduct daily site inspections, hazard assessments, and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead and document toolbox talks, safety meetings, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
• Investigate and document accidents/incidents, perform root-cause analyses, and implement improvements.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, and training logs.
• Provide ongoing safety training and coaching to field staff and subcontractors.
• Support emergency response planning, drills, and continuous safety program enhancements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• Experience:
• 2–4 years of construction safety experience (airfield or heavy civil preferred).
• Certifications:
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
• CPR/First Aid, CHST, or EM 385-1-1 certifications preferred.
• Knowledge:
• FAA and DOT safety requirements, confined space, fall protection, and heavy equipment safety.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
