Responsibilities
- Assist the dental team during various procedures, including chairside support for pediatric and general dentistry treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and sterilization techniques following infection control protocols
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper technique and patient safety
- Manage patient records accurately using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, maintaining HIPAA compliance at all times
- Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits
- Support the dental receptionist with appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out, and medical documentation updates
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control standards
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with Epic or medical coding is a plus
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and effectively; certification in radiography preferred
- Strong understanding of infection control practices, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience working with children is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide outstanding patient service
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training; knowledge of medical terminology and medical records management is advantageous
