Job Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Part-Time Periodontal Dental Assistant at Sage Dental of West Boca Raton. Responsibilities

• Assist the dental team during periodontal procedures, including scaling, root planing, and surgical treatments, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, maintaining strict aseptic techniques to ensure infection control.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) and operate advanced imaging equipment such as 3D scanners for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Gather vital signs and medical history information from patients while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
• Manage dental records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of procedures and medical information.
• Educate patients on periodontal health, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices to promote optimal outcomes.
• Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and assisting with medical documentation as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience in dental assisting within a clinical setting, preferably with knowledge of general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, or pediatric dentistry.
• Proficiency in dental terminology, X-ray techniques, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar medical documentation platforms is a plus.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security.
• Ability to perform chairside assisting confidently while maintaining high standards of infection control and anatomy knowledge.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, vital signs collection, and medical coding practices relevant to dental care.
• Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist when interacting with patients and team members.
• Certification in X-ray safety is required; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or advanced imaging are advantageous.
