SailPoint Developer (ICAM / IdentityIQ)

Job Summary:

This role is heavily focused on implementation and development activities inside SailPoint IIQ, including connector customization, workflow development, Java and BeanShell rule development, provisioning lifecycle management, and troubleshooting complex onboarding and aggregation issues.

The ideal candidate is an execution-oriented IIQ developer who actively performs hands-on development, configuration, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting within SailPoint environments on a daily basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end onboarding of enterprise applications into SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ)
  • Design, develop, customize, and troubleshoot SailPoint workflows, provisioning rules, lifecycle events, approval processes, and integrations
  • Develop and maintain custom Java and BeanShell-based SailPoint rules and logic
  • Configure, customize, extend, and troubleshoot SailPoint connectors and application integrations
  • Troubleshoot aggregation failures, schema discovery issues, entitlement synchronization problems, provisioning failures, and rule execution errors
  • Perform entitlement analysis, access modeling, role mapping, and identity correlation activities
  • Develop and maintain REST/SOAP integrations between SailPoint and enterprise systems
  • Support deployment, testing, migration, and production troubleshooting activities
  • Create reusable onboarding standards, integration patterns, and implementation documentation
  • Support access certification, RBAC, provisioning, deprovisioning, and identity lifecycle governance processes
  • Collaborate with application owners and engineering teams to support onboarding and access automation initiatives
  • Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting sessions, and technical mentoring activities

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in IT, cybersecurity, or identity and access management
  • Active or Interim Secret Clearance
  • Hands-on experience with SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ) implementations as a developer with proficiency in Java
  • Minimum 7 years of hands-on SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ) development experience
  • Ability to develop custom connectors, rules, and workflows using Java
  • Experience writing and debugging BeanShell scripts for customization within IdentityIQ
  • Ability to work with XML for configuration, policy definitions, and data exchange
  • Experience integrating IdentityIQ with external systems using RESTful and SOAP web services
  • Ability to write and optimize SQL queries for reporting, troubleshooting, and data migration
  • Familiarity with SailPoint APIs for extending and integrating IdentityIQ functionality
  • Understanding of LDAP, Active Directory, and other directory services
  • Knowledge of access certifications, role management, provisioning, and governance features in IdentityIQ
  • Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git)
  • Experience developing custom provisioning workflows and lifecycle event triggers
  • Experience writing BeanShell scripts for attribute synchronization and policy enforcement
  • Experience creating and maintaining custom connectors for integrating HR systems, directories, or cloud applications
  • Experience implementing and troubleshooting IdentityIQ rules including certification rules and policy rules
  • Experience troubleshooting provisioning failures, aggregation issues, schema discovery issues, connector synchronization failures, and rule execution errors
  • Experience supporting identity and access management (IAM) projects within large enterprise or federal/public sector environments
  • Familiarity with the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working with Agile or Waterfall delivery methodologiesz
  • SailPoint Certified IdentityIQ Engineer certification
  • CISSP, CISM, Security+, or related IAM/security certifications
  • Experience supporting federal ICAM or Zero Trust modernization initiatives
  • Familiarity with NIST, RMF, and federal cybersecurity compliance frameworks
  • Experience mentoring junior developers or supporting technical leadership activities
