New Door Bonus: $100 per new account, paid after second reorder

Position Summary

The Sales Account Manager is responsible for growing Push Cannabis revenue across an assigned Michigan territory by managing existing dispensary accounts and opening new doors for both the Smokiez Edibles and Mother Puckers product lines. This is a field-based, full-time role that combines relationship management, new business development, in-store sampling, and budtender education. Our coverage is statewide. We have strong opportunities in Metro Detroit, but also significant white space in West Michigan and Northern Michigan that we need help capturing. The Sales Account Manager will be one of the most visible faces of Push Cannabis with our retail partners, and the success of the role directly drives the growth of the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of 30 to 50 active dispensary accounts in an assigned territory, with primary focus on driving reorders and growing average order value
  • Identify, prospect, and open new dispensary accounts to expand the Push Cannabis distribution footprint across Michigan, with particular focus on underserved West Michigan and Northern Michigan markets
  • Conduct regular in-store visits, including buyer meetings, budtender education sessions, and product sampling
  • Execute promotional programs at retail, including ensuring promo materials are present, deals are honored, and reimbursement workflows are completed correctly
  • Submit weekly call reports, pipeline updates, and sales forecasts to ownership
  • Coordinate with the internal Push Cannabis team (account managers, kitchen production, operations) to ensure orders are fulfilled correctly and on time
  • Maintain accurate account records in our distribution and CRM platforms (Distru, LeafLink, Push HQ)
  • Represent Push Cannabis professionally with buyers, store managers, and budtenders at all times
  • Track competitive activity in the territory and report market intelligence back to ownership
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 1 year of B2B outside sales experience (cannabis, beverage, spirits, CPG, or other regulated industry preferred)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age (per Michigan cannabis regulations)
  • Valid Michigan driver's license and reliable personal transportation
  • Ability to pass a background check in accordance with Michigan cannabis regulations and applicable law
  • Michigan resident, willing and able to travel statewide

Preferred

  • Existing relationships with Michigan dispensary buyers, including outside of Metro Detroit
  • Experience with cannabis distribution platforms (Distru, LeafLink)
  • Existing knowledge of Michigan CRA regulations and Metrc
  • Demonstrated track record of opening new accounts and growing territory revenue

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both in-person and written
  • Self-starter mindset, able to build a route, manage a pipeline, and follow up without being managed daily
  • Comfortable being in dispensaries 4 to 5 days per week
  • Strong attention to detail with order accuracy, account notes, and promo execution
  • Professional appearance and demeanor when representing the company
  • Comfortable with software tools (CRM, spreadsheets, email, basic reporting)
  • Ability to handle objections, negotiate effectively, and close orders

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to drive long distances regularly, often multiple hours per day
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds (sample cases, marketing materials)
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during in-store sampling and education sessions
  • Ability to work in a variety of retail environments with varying conditions

Work Environment

  • Field-based role with regular statewide travel between licensed cannabis dispensaries in Michigan, with access to a desk and equipment at our facility when needed
  • Occasional evening or weekend work for events, promotions, or special account needs
  • Regulated cannabis environment requiring strict adherence to Michigan CRA policies and procedures
  • Fast-paced and rapidly growing company environment

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base compensation: $500 per week
  • Sales commission: 4 percent of wholesale revenue on your assigned accounts, paid after the customer invoice is collected, uncapped
  • New door bonus: $100 per new dispensary account, paid after the account places a second reorder
  • Mileage reimbursement: IRS standard rate of $0.725 per mile for all business-related driving, reimbursed monthly
