Job Title: Part-time Sales Associate

We are looking for a candidate who can work Tuesdays 5pm-11pm and various other shifts within the following availability: Friday (5pm-11pm availability), Saturday (9am-11pm availability), and Sunday (12pm-6pm availability).

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Sales Associate & Cashier to join our team at Doghouse Liquor. This position requires excellent communication skills, a passion for providing great customer service, and the ability to handle cashier duties efficiently. As a key member of our team, you will help customers with their purchases, manage transactions, and ensure a positive shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, assist with product selection, answer inquiries about products, promotions, and store policies.
• Sales: Help customers find the perfect products based on their preferences and needs.
• Cashiering: Operate the cash register, process transactions accurately, and handle cash, credit card, and other payment types.
• Stocking & Inventory: Assist in stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the store is clean and visually appealing.
• Age Verification: Ensure compliance with legal age restrictions for alcohol sales and verify identification to prevent underage sales.
• Product Knowledge: Maintain a strong understanding of the store’s product offerings, including various types of spirits, wines, and beers, and offer recommendations to customers.
• Store Maintenance: Ensure the store is clean, well-organized, and fully stocked. Perform routine cleaning and minor maintenance tasks as needed.
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the store.
• Problem Resolution: Address customer complaints or concerns professionally and work toward a resolution to maintain customer satisfaction.
• Compliance: Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws regarding alcohol sales and store operations.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous retail or cashier experience preferred. Experience in the liquor or beverage industry is a plus.
• Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, basic math skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• KS Liquor Store Requirements: Must be at least 21 years old due to legal requirements for selling alcohol [Subsection (a)(2) of K.S.A. 41-713]. Cannot have been convicted of any felony [Subsection (a)(3) of K.S.A. 41-713].
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift boxes (up to 50 lbs.), and perform other physical tasks as required.
• Shift Availability: We need a candidate who can work various shifts within the following availability: Tuesday (5pm-11pm availability), Friday (5pm-11pm availability), Saturday (9am-11pm availability), and Sunday (12pm-6pm availability).
• Positive Attitude: Must be friendly, approachable, and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
