Sales Associate / Cashier

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Sales Associate / Cashier to join our retail team! In this role, you will be the friendly face that greets customers, provides exceptional service, and ensures a smooth checkout experience. Your enthusiasm and product knowledge will help customers find what they need, while your attention to detail keeps our store running efficiently. Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products or answering questions about merchandise.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing.
• Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities.
• Maintain well-stocked shelves through merchandising and stocking duties, ensuring products are organized and visually appealing.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy, adhering to proper phone etiquette.
• Assist with inventory management tasks such as stock counts, product replenishment, and organizing displays.
• Promote store promotions and upselling techniques to maximize sales while delivering a positive shopping experience.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Keep the store clean, organized, and welcoming at all times
• Stay current on new products, seasonal offerings, and promotions

Bonus points for

• WSET or Court of Master Sommeliers certification (any level)
• Familiarity with New York State craft spirits and local wines
• Bilingual — Spanish/English speakers encouraged to apply

Experience

• Prior retail sales or cashiering experience is preferred but not required; we welcome motivated individuals eager to learn.
• Bilingual skills are a plus, enabling effective communication with a diverse customer base.
• Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic retail math is highly advantageous.
• Supervising experience in retail or customer service roles is beneficial for growth opportunities within the team.
• Strong communication skills combined with excellent phone etiquette will help foster positive customer interactions.
